GeoVerse®144: Cap Anson’s Last Gift

Adrian ‘Cap’ Anson had many positive influences on the game. One of his most notable contributions was to help establish the tradition of spring training that has since become a billion-dollar business. Anson died penniless in 1922 and the monument standing at this location is the last gift given to him that was paid for by a group of National League executives.
